Achievements
"Beanstalk!" the musical, written by Donna Swift and Ross Mihalko with music by Linda Berg, lyrics by Ross Mihalko, will be published by Samuel French/Baker's Plays and put in their catalogue for schools and theater companies to produce. The play was first written and produced at Island Theatre Workshop's Children's Theater in Oak Bluffs.
The Martha's Vineyard Regional High School's drama class presented their original piece, "Between the Lines," at the Massachusetts High School Drama Guild Festival in Bourne on March 1. Jeremy Pikor won an award for acting, and Chad Curtis won an award for set design.
The following high school musicians performed in the All-Cape and Island Music Festival in February:
Toby Riseborough, Zach Rabin, Lydia Fischer, Emma Frizzell, Shelagh Huntington, Willoughby Smith, Bethany Pennington, and Emily Carter.
Bethany Pennington and Hannah Marlin of the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School were chosen to perform in the Southeast District Senior Festival.
Toby Riseborough, Bryan MacKenty, and Sidra Dumont were members of the Mixed Chorus for the Junior District Festival.
