Slip sliding away

This weekend, the Martha's Vineyard Figure Skating Club celebrated its 20th annual show at the Martha's Vineyard Ice Arena. This year's theme was Skating Across America, and skaters danced and jumped to songs such as "Walking in Memphis," "Wild, Wild, West," and "California Girls," among many, many more. In a piece dedicated to the memory of Virginia Hackney and choreographed by Jane Taylor, soloist Olivia Odgen skated to "Pennsylvania Polka."

The show is the effort of two women, co-directors and choreographers Beth Blankenship-O'Connor and Jane Taylor, who also coach the skaters.
