Art - Art students display talent

By Tony Omer - April 3, 2008

Featherstone Center for the Arts opened its doors to display art by regional high school students from the classes of art department teachers Janice Frame and Scott Campbell. Entitled "Paper and Pottery," the pieces on display include pottery and ceramic sculpture, pen and ink drawings, and oil and acrylic paintings.

An educated person in today's world needs to know more than just basic survival skills to get by, and the student art in this show demonstrates that not only are some Island students learning more than the three Rs, but they are excelling at mastering a wide range of artistic media and aesthetics.

It is a small show with big talent.

The show at Featherstone Center for the Arts runs daily through Sunday, April 6, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. For more information, call 508-693-1850.
