Tots and tomatoes
The young gardeners at the Chilmark Preschool announce their third annual Rainbow Tomato Fundraiser. They offer eight varieties, including green zebra, brandywine, a rainbow six-pack, and the smaller yellow pear tomatoes. Download an order form from ticketsmv.com/tomatoes. Orders are due by May 1, and pick-up is June 7. All proceeds go to the preschool's enrichment programs.
One bite at a time
Tonight, Slow Food Martha's Vineyard hosts their monthly potluck of local food. Simply prepare a dish for six with local ingredients and head to the Ag Hall in West Tisbury. The potluck is from 6:30-9 pm. While there, learn about Whippoorwill Farm Community Supported Agriculture and Flat Point Poultry Community Supported Chicken. Avon ladies dinner
This Wednesday, The Black Dog Tavern is hosting a benefit dinner in support of two sponsored walkers participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This year's walkers are Anastasia Smolnikov and Johanna Gauvreau, who each have to raise $1,800 to participate. The four-course dinner costs $50 a person, and also includes a raffle with prizes donated by local Island businesses. The dinner is from 5 to 9 pm on April 23.
