Eugenia C. "Jean" O'Brien of Oak Bluffs died on Tuesday, April 15, in the Martha's Vineyard Hospital after a brief illness. She was 80.
She was the devoted mother of Joanne P. Ryan and her husband Kevin of Edgartown and loving grandmother of Jonathan P. Ryan of Boston and the sister of Robert C. Gardner of Edgartown. She was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Roy.
Jean's funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 19 in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church on Massasoit Avenue in Oak Bluffs at 10 am. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery on Vineyard Avenue in Oak Bluffs.
Visiting hours in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs will be Friday, April 18 from 6 to 9 pm.
