It was a made-to-order perfect Memorial Day weekend with the predictions of great weather and sun actually being fulfilled. What better way to start off than the Hospice "Fun Walk and Race" that was held on Sunday. The Fun Run started from the Wesley House and that beautiful area along the bulkhead was filled to capacity with runners and observers. Then an amazing number of runners set off from Ocean Park and it looked as if the line of runners would never end. It was a most successful endeavor supporting a wonderful cause.

Thursday, June 5, at 6 pm, will be Movie Night at the Oak Bluffs Library. The library will be showing a new DVD release on the library's big screen with popcorn and beverages being served. Join them for this award winning drama about an international soccer star and a New York City waitress.

Congratulations to Sudara White, the daughter of Stephanie and Bill White. Sudara graduated from St. John's College with a BS in Communications on Sun., May 18.

The Oak Bluffs School PTO will be holding their first tag sale on Saturday, May 31. It will be held at the school to benefit the Café project. Here is an opportunity to get rid of all that extra stuff. You may donate items or lease a space for $40, and sell your own items for your own profit or use a space for free to sell your items and donate your profits.

Maureen Tripp has had as her guests this past week her sister, Andrea, and Andrea's friend Bernetta. Bernetta is a captain, and a firefighter and EMT in the Duval County Fire Dept. in Jacksonville, Florida. Needless to say, her friends are very proud of her accomplishments.

We send Birthday Smiles to James Tripp who partied on May 26, Bert Combra on June 4, Ann Hearn on June 5, Robert Murphy on June 8, Ernestine Kinnecom on June 9, and Suzanne Walker, Lisa Williston, and Donald BenDavid who all share June 10.

Willy and Susan deBettencourt will be celebrating their wedding anniversary on June 10.

As there was an early Sunday deadline for the column this week due to the Memorial Day Holiday, some of you may have sent news in past that deadline. Be assured it will be in on June 5.

Enjoy your week and send your news along to me.

Peace.
