Kids at The Yard
This summer, The Yard introduces Creative Theater with Music and Movement, week-long sessions for children entering grades one through five. There will be six sessions that will include singing, acting, movement, and improvisation. The Yard's guest teaching artists will teach the workshops. In addition to the new programs, the organization offers a discounted rate of $200 for children enrolled in Island schools. The regular tuition is $275. Spinning a tale
The Martha's Vineyard School of Ballet presents "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" at the Edgartown School on June 6. With colorful costumes and guided by the artistic direction of Beth Vegas, the young cast takes on the rolls of Snow White, the dwarfs, and the fairy. The show starts at 7 pm and costs $10.
Ray and Betty
In their last U.S. performance, soul/blues duo Dwight and Nicole will play a show at Outerland this Friday, June 6. Dwight Ritcher and Nicole Nelson honor the music of Ray Charles and Betty Carter in their concerts, which recently sold out in both New York and Cambridge. Their set includes "People Will Say We're in Love," "Two to Tango," and "Night Time is the Right Time." Tickets are $15. For more information, call 508-693-1137.
