Obituary : Barbara J. Green
Barbara Jahnke Green of Chilmark died on Thursday, July 3. She was 84.
Born in Hamburg, Germany and raised in Suffern, N.Y., she attended the University of Michigan. She lived for many years in Armonk, N.Y., before moving to Chilmark where she enjoyed visits from her extended family and friends. She cared deeply about Martha's Vineyard, supporting many local, community-based charitable causes.
She leaves a daughter, Margaret, of Westford; three sons, Edward of Salisbury, Md., William of Andover and Charles of New Hope, Penn., and 12 grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at Abel's Hill Cemetery in Chilmark on Friday, July 11, at 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Vineyard Nursing Association.
