Obituary : Caroline M. Crocker

Caroline Magdalyn (Phillips) Crocker, 92, of Elginwood Road in Peabody, beloved wife of the late Kimball T. Crocker Sr., died following a long illness Sunday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her family.

Born in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Krauter) Phillips. She was raised and educated in the Bronx, N.Y., and graduated from Jackson College at Tufts University in 1939. In 1955 she earned her teachers certification at Salem State College.

A resident of the city of Peabody since 1953, Mrs. Crocker was a much-loved teacher in the Georgetown Public School System from 1958 until her retirement in 1980. She taught third grade until she was appointed the reading supervisor for the school system. In retirement she taught adult education and English as a second language as a volunteer. She was active in a number of organizations and enjoyed her activities as a member of the Red Hat Society. She shared much wisdom and love with her family and her many friends. Her kind and caring nature will be deeply missed.

Caroline is survived by her daughter, Kathie L. Carroll and her husband, Emmett, of Chilmark; her sons, Kimball T. Crocker Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Wakefield, R.I., and Harvey P. Crocker of Peabody; her grandchildren, Tim Carroll, Marshall Carroll, and his wife, Katie, Chris Carroll and his wife, Kendra, Carlton Crocker, Thomas Crocker, and James Crocker and his wife, Amy, Lisa Rogerson, John Rogerson and his wife, Christine, and Jennifer Demeneze and her husband, Brian; her great grandchildren, Bradley, Brooks and Oona Carroll, Joshua and Laura Crocker, Brett FraserĀ and Jerry Rogerson and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home located at 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers, on Saturday, July 26, at 12:15 pm.
