Deborah Colter At Cousen Rose
The mixed media paintings of Deborah T. Colter are being featured this week the Cousen Rose Gallery in Oak Bluffs. Ms. Colter's paintings are in numerous private collections, corporate collections, and galleries around the country.
Ms. Colter describes her artistic challenge as an attempt to create a balance among the chaos of thoughts, images, and events. Working with textures and color, repeating shapes and forms, the Edgartown resident brings artistic expression to the daily debris of life's memories.
Her collection of mixed media paintings is featured at the Cousen Rose Gallery the week of July 26 through August 2.
Hoffman And Hall At Hastings
Artists Rick Hoffman and Ron Hall will share the spotlight in a show opening August 2 and running through Sept. 7 at hastings in the alley gallery in Oak Bluffs.
Expressionist oil painter Rick Hoffman's work creates a spiritual effect through his handling of layered colors in selective combination with linear elements.
Ron Hall's photography uses light to depict familiar settings as fragile and changing images. His photographs, most taken between dusk and dawn, create a sense of the mystical in the ordinary.
