Sense of Wonder winds down

Published: August 21, 2008

Sense of Wonder Creations concluded its 18th summer on Friday, August 15, with a party. The non-profit organization incorporates artistic expression with education about ethnic diversity, caring for the environment, and doing local and global community service projects.

For its final week, the camp's theme was alternative energies and local food. Festivities on the last day included a visit from farm animals from the Thompson Farm in Vineyard Haven, a water-powered rocket, kites, and an art show. Campers put the finishing touches on a mural that they will send to an orphanage in Haiti along with money raised in a walk-a-thon on Thursday.
