Slice of the Vineyard
Seafood is an Island staple. But sometimes the craving for a slice of pizza trumps that of shellfish. When that happens, the Vineyard is the right place to be.
In Oak Bluffs, Giordano's has been an Island mainstay for over 70 years. Located across from the Flying Horses at the bottom of Circuit Avenue, Giordano's offers both sit-down and take-out service. Their Neapolitan slices have the flavor of a family recipe that is four generations old.

Also in Oak Bluffs is Joey's Pizza at Dockside behind Fishbones Café, offering slices from an old recipe from the East End in Boston; Offshore Ale on Kennebec Avenue; and Paesan's and Pomodoro, at the upper end of Circuit Avenue. Offshore, known for its home-brewed beers, also serves a wide selection of brick-oven pizzas, including a roasted duck pizza with leeks and pancetta (bacon). Pomodoro's specialty is its Pizza Rustica, a huge pie, colorful as a work of modern art with of sausage, roasted red pepper, spinach, shredded mozzarella, and the goat cheese.
Among the offerings in Edgartown is The Fresh Pasta Shoppe on Upper Main Street with pizzas chock-full of piled-high toppings. Specialty pizzas include bacon double cheeseburger, barbecue chicken, and vegetable, a veritable garden.
Lattanzi's Pizzeria, in Old Post Office Square in Edgartown, combines brick oven specialty and conventional pizza. Choices include the Carrara, with basil pesto, roast chicken and Fontina; the Vongole with clams, tomatoes, and garlic spinach with asiago cheese; and for vegetarians, the Al Bosco with roasted mushrooms, eggplant, peppers, and asiago cheese with prosciutto.

Visit Edgartown Pizza at the tip of The Triangle, serving classic family-style pizza with a choice of over 36 toppings. Among their specialties: barbequed chicken, Greek pizza, vegetarian, and a first of its kind Breakfast Pizza, an ingenious combination of such things as grilled meats, tomato sauce and scrambled eggs on baked crust.
A stroll through Vineyard Haven brings pizza lovers to Rocco's at the Tisbury Market Place, a slice or whole pie (16-inch) with the full range of toppings; Bob's Pizza and Subs on Main Street, selling plain or pepperoni pizzas by the slice or the pie; and on State Road, Louis's specialties include Five Cheese, Pesto, Baked Lasagna, and Fully Loaded, among others.
Those up-Island needn't feel pizza-deprived. Fella's, next to Up-Island Cronig's in West Tisbury, offers a fine selection year-round. And the Chilmark Store near Beetlebung Corner features wheat crust pizza with vegetables as one of its specialties, along with deep-dish specials.
