Obituary : Howard A. "Mike" Mickelson

Howard A. "Mike" Mickelson, 77, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Saturday, August 16, in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, N.H. Mr. Mickelson was born in Pawtucket, R.I. on Feb. 8, 1931, a son of the late Ralph and Helen (Hutton) Mickelson. He was a graduate of Northeastern University, Class of 1955.

Mr. Mickelson was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as an investigator for FEMA. Mr. Mickelson loved and raised show dogs, and was a member of the American Kennel Club, where he was a judge for many years.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Mickelson of Nashua, N.H., and James Mickelson and his wife, Tammy, of Bedford, N.H.; three daughters, Helen Mickelson of Martha's Vineyard, Catherine McLean and her husband, Art, of Derry, and Marybeth Linscott and her husband, Keith, of Martha's Vineyard; seven grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Mickelson of Virginia; three sisters, Irene Gill of New Jersey, Lois Barriere of Massachusetts, and Enid Browne of Connecticut, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
