The April 1 issue of The Times reported incorrectly that town clerk Deborah Ratcliff received a raise of $10,213 last year, over the objection of the finance and advisory committee. According to committee minutes, members voted 7 to 0 at the March 19, 2009 meeting to recommend a raise of $10,213, to a salary of $74,360. According to minutes of the committee’s March 24 meeting, after a presentation from the personnel board opposing the raise, the finance and advisory committee voted 8-0 to rescind its previous vote and recommend Ms. Ratcliff’s pay be set at $66,082, a raise of $1,935. According to minutes of the finance and advisory committee’s April 2 meeting, after a presentation from selectman Kerry Scott and Ms. Ratcliff, the committee again reversed its position, and recommended the $10,213 raise to town meeting, by a vote of 3-1, with two abstentions.
