Opening days for Vineyard restaurants

Look around. Restaurants are re-opening everywhere for another season. Take tonight for example. The Lookout Tavern in Oak Bluffs celebrates opening day, and Tax Day, starting at 4 pm. Tonight only, taxes are on the house for both food and liquor, such as a Volcano Roll and Rum Punch, or Steamers and a Stella.

Chesca’s in Edgartown and Blue Canoe in Vineyard Haven also open tonight.

Jimmy Seas Pan Pasta in Oak Bluffs reopened last week, and they’ll remain open Thursdays through Sundays until later in the spring.

In Aquinnah, Faith’s Seafood Shack plans to serve the Shack menu this Saturday, April 17. The Sushi menu, and the return of Saturday Sunset Sushi, starts Saturday, May 1.

Michael Brisson of l’etoile in Edgartown promises to open mid-April. He’s finishing multiple renovations, including new floors in the kitchen and back bar.

Also in Edgartown, The Right Fork Diner in Katama opens on Friday, May 21. Their hours are 7 am to 2 pm, seven days a week. Dinners start in July.

And the Edgartown Inn opens for breakfast this Sunday, April 18, and continues daily from 8 to 11 am.

Susan and Pierre Guerin of The Sweet Life Café in Oak Bluffs invite diners for a glass of champagne on the house during their opening weekend, starting Friday, April 30.

The Oak Bluffs Harbor will bustle soon with the reopening of Coop de Ville on Friday, April 23. The first harbor restaurant to open, the others will soon follow: Sand Bar, Nancy’s, Fishbones, and ShipWreck.

The Chilmark Tavern opens May 6 under new management. Louise and Paul Petersiel are veteran restaurateurs who own Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott. New chef Pete Gwilliam will focus on local fare. New to the tavern this year is a BYOB daily happy hour that features a raw bar and light fare; Sunday Brunch; and a Tavern Pantry for customers to call ahead and pick up food such as raw shellfish and marinated steaks to cook at home.

Also in Chilmark, the Home Port Restaurant opens on Thursday May 27. The Beach Plum Inn and Restaurant opens on May 21.

Renovations are almost done at Sweet E’s Cupcakes on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. On May 1, get your fill of cream-filled, chocolate covered, fruit-flavored, or just plain vanilla on vanilla cupcakes.

Also in Vineyard Haven, Le Grenier is now open seven days a week, starting at 5:30 pm. And Saltwater plans to reopen sometime in May.
