Vineyard Playhouse auditions
The Vineyard Playhouse hosts open auditions for “My Mom Is Trying To Ruin My Life,” a play by MJ Bruder Munafo based on the novel by Islander Kate Feiffer. Actors should come prepared to read a short scene from the play, provided at the audition. All roles are open: children, two girls to play third and fourth graders, and one boy to play a first grader, plus extras in non-speaking roles; and adults, one woman to play the mom, and three adults to play police officers. Auditions are Wednesday, May 5 from 4 to 6 pm. Show dates are from June 10 to 19.
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” open auditions are also held at the Vineyard Playhouse. Auditions are Saturdays, May 15 and 22 from 10 am to 2 pm. Actors should come prepared to perform a short (under two minutes) Shakespearean monologue from any of his plays. All roles are open, and the play seeks young non-equity actors of all ethnic backgrounds. Also, there will be a separate audition date in June for the many needed children to play fairies and wood sprites. Show dates are between July 15 and August 15, and are at the Tisbury Amphitheater.
