Vacation fun at the MV Boys and Girls Club

Island kids participated in a special “Funhunters Scavenger Hunt” during April school vacation week last Friday at the Martha’s Vineyard Boys and Girls Club in Edgartown. Former Oak Bluffs and Chilmark principal Gerry Moriarty developed the Funhunters Scavenger Hunt and provided the club with 100 free copies of her new booklet.

Such comments as “Oh, we know all about the Vineyard,” soon led to an animated and interesting discussion about where they might find specific scavenger hunt items like a mermaid’s purse, a plane on a grassy airstrip, and a church that has no walls. During her tenure as a principal, Mrs. Moriarty’s four sons spent many happy hours at the Boys and Girls Club. She said she wanted to express her thanks to the club by donating copies of the new Scavenger Hunt to the children of the club.
