Jacqueline L. (Dube) Bilodeau, 79, of Hillside Village in Vineyard Haven died on Friday, May 7 at Mass. General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.She was the wife of Leo R. Bilodeau, who predeceased her in 1997. She is survived by her children, Bruce McIntosh of Edgartown, Gerald Westover of Colebrook, N.H., and Edgartown, and Philip Westover of Stow and West Tisbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sally (Westover) Formica, Jeffrey Westover, Anthony Westover, Tim Ahlbum, Lindsey (Ahlbum) Rudd, Emily Ahlbum, Lacey McIntosh, Katie McIntosh, Amanda McIntosh, Laura Westover, Sophie Westover, and Alex Westover, and by her great-grandchildren Andrew Formica, Jenna Ahlbum and Kailyn Rudd. Also by her sisters, Phyllis Jardin, Joan Coffin both of Ft. Myers, Fla., and her brothers, Donald Dube of Florida and David Dube of Vineyard Haven. She was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn (McIntosh) Ahlbum and her brother Phil Dube. Her brothers-in-law, Oliver Coffin and Frank Jardin, sister-in-law Carolyn Dube, daughter-in-law, Coleen Westover and son-in-law, Jon Ahlbum also survive her.Jackie was born in Edgartown on August 9, 1930, the daughter of Cyprien P. R. Dube and Lena (Geddis) Dube. She attended the Edgartown schools and was graduated from the EdgartownHigh School.She worked at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital for ten years and then the Edgartown Water Department for ten years before retiring in 2000.Jackie was a very religious person who liked to cook and was an affectionate grandmother to her grandchildren. Her greatest pleasure was raising children and she always strove to include friends and in-laws (present and past) within her family circle; her motto was: once a family member, always a family member. She was never quick to judge people and always strove to find the best in everyone around her.Her funeral service will be held in the Old Whaling Church, Main Street, Edgartown on Saturday, May 15 at 11 am, officiated by Rev. Richard Rego. Burial will follow in the New Westside Cemetery, Robinson Road, Edgartown.Visiting hours in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs will be on Friday, May 14, from 5 to 7 pm.Donations may be made to the MV Cancer Support Group, PO Box 2214, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
