The Dukes County Health Council’s Youth Task Force (YTF) will host a presentation focusing on social host liability law issues by Kathi Meyer of Plainville and Attorney Mark Hoover at 7 pm tomorrow night at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) library conference room.

Ms. Meyer’s daughter Taylor died in a drowning accident after an underage drinking party last year. Since then, she has made presentations to teens and parents about the dangers of underage drinking and making poor choices.

Mr. Hoover, a 1983 MVRHS graduate, is a member of the Boston law firm Campbell, Campbell, Edwards, and Conroy. He has made previous presentations for the YTF to educate students, parents, teachers and members of the community about the social host law and to illustrate the legal consequences of allowing those under the age of 21 to possess alcoholic beverages.

Friday’s program concludes a spring lecture series, “Let’s Talk,” hosted monthly by YTF since March. Program coordinator Theresa Manning said the lectures were offered in response to parents’ requests for more support and community resources.
