A three-car accident at the fork of State Road and Old County Road in West Tisbury on May 19 left two people injured. Police cited one driver, 81-year-old Marcie Jones of Vineyard Haven, for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield to oncoming traffic.

Ms. Jones was traveling up-Island on State Road in a 2002 Toyota Camry when she turned left at the intersection on Old County Road in front of oncoming traffic, West Tisbury Police said in a press release.

Ms. Jones’ vehicle struck a 2003 Suburu Legacy operated by Patrick Phillips, 52, of West Tisbury. Mr. Phillips was traveling down-Island on State Road. The impact caused both cars to strike a 1995 Volvo, operated by Megan Lizotte, 34, of Edgartown. Ms. Lizotte was stopped at the end of Old County Road.

Ms. Jones and Mr. Phillips were transported to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Police cited Ms. Jones later for her role in the accident.
