Bloomsday celebration this Wednesday

Arts and Society presents the 32nd annual Bloomsday Celebration of music and drama based on the text of James Joyce, influential Irish writer and poet who lived from 1882 to 1941.

Held annually on June 16, this year’s celebration begins with David O’Docherty on the tin whistle and Irish flute. Bloomsday regular Gerry Yukevich will perform “The Boarding House from ‘Dubliners’,” and “The Cat and the Devil” with Buck Reidy. Enjoy a medley of Victorian/Irish songs with Katrina Nevin, Buck Reidy, and Phil Dietterich; Madison Ibsen plays an Irish air on the viola, George Ricci lends his talent, and Natalie Rose finishes the show with her rendering of Molly from “Ulysses.”

Tickets for the show, which is organized and produced by John Crelan, are $15 on the day of show, which is at the Katharine Cornell Theatre at 8 pm.
