Edgartown boutique will raise funds for museum

On Tuesday, July 6 the Dr. Daniel Fisher House on Main Street in Edgartown will host the “Second Annual Edgartown Summer Boutiques,” a one-day shopping event that will feature many one-of-a-kind items that include jewelry, blankets, shawls, and stationery. Participating exhibitors have agreed to provide 10 percent of the proceeds from this sale and a repeat on August 10 to the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, which is a short walk away at 59 School Street.

The Boutiques were inspired by local summer residents Marte Humbert, Cindy DeLotto, Gail Kittenplan, and Monica Shelton Reusch when they began holding home trunk shows in Edgartown and on Chappaquiddick several years ago as a fun and social way to showcase their wares to friends. As the popularity of the events grew, they decided they needed a bigger venue to accommodate more vendors and even more visitors.
