Tisbury Street Fair next week

In celebration of Tisbury’s birthday, the town’s annual Street Fair kicks off at 6:30 pm on July 8. Main Street will be closed to traffic and filled with vendors offering tasty treats, trinkets, and fun activities, including a rock-climbing wall, pony rides, and face-painting. Along with live music, there will be some special performances by singers and dancers.

Tisbury police will begin clearing Main Street at 5 pm to prepare for closing.

Fairgoers are encouraged to park at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and take a free shuttle bus service provided by Island Transport to and from the fair from 6:30-9:30 pm. Vineyard Transit Authority buses also will operate to and from the park-and-ride lot off High Point Lane in Vineyard Haven.

Proceeds from vendor fees will be donated to the Tisbury Police Relief Association. The association provides two scholarships to high school students annually, and over the past year bought some recreational equipment needed at Tisbury School.

Non-food vendor space at the street fair may be booked through July 5. Call 508-693-5366.
