Sunday’s Fourth of July parade in Edgartown delighted all comers, participants and onlookers alike, as this small, spirited celebration has for decades. The weather smiled on this colorful, fun, diverse procession, whose fundamental message reinforced the general understanding that something liberating, compelling, generous, ambitious, and astonishing began with the Declaration of Independence — something that absolutely deserves parades, fireworks, and grateful smiles.
