Matt Tobin of Chilmark (above) won the annual Klays for Kids skeet shoot at the MV Rod & Gun Club’s skeet range, Sunday, July 18. The event is a benefit for the club’s three annual projects for youngsters: the Kids Trout Tournament, Camp Jabberwocky Fishing Day, and the Kids Conservation Camp Scholarship.

Matt scored higher than any of the seven other shooters, edging out Phil Hughes of Oak Bluffs who was runner up.

Bill Damora of Point Pleasant Beach, N.J., was third.Each participant shot a minimum of two rounds of 25 targets, but could shoot as many as he/she wanted. A “fine” was levied on missed targets and $215 was collected.

The Club’s annual Skeet Championship shoot off will be Sunday, August 15.
