Jennifer Pillsworth, director, The Field Gallery: The way that I assess a successful season is whether our artists have made wonderful work — fresh, exciting and new — and if they have gone off in new and different directions. And then, if we have kept our visitors excited, inspired and interested — if we have heightened their artistic curiosities. We have an artist, Charles Gibbs, who makes found-object sculptures. His pieces are very thought-provoking. People have been very quizzical about his work, and it has produced animated conversations. People get excited — and that’s the point.
