SCORE offers small business course

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s SCORE (Service Corp Of Retired Executives) will offer a “Successful Small Business” course that begins on Sept. 22 at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. The seven-week course will be held at 7 pm Wednesday nights and cover a wide range of topics useful to business people and to those contemplating starting a business, according to a press release.

The course is taught by experienced former executives and entrepreneurs, and will cover: Business Planning; Financing; Sales and Marketing; E-commerce and Web Design; Accounting Practices and Record Keeping; Tax Strategies and other topics. The content is designed to provide small business owners and those considering going into business with a solid introduction to sound, useful business practices, especially in an economic downturn.

The fee is $130, which includes the SCORE Handbook. Reservations can be made by calling 508-696-9687.
