A brief but moving ceremony, reflecting on the tragedy of 9/11, was held at the Nelson W. Amaral Fire station on Wing Road on Saturday. All the EMS and Fire Department vehicles were pulled out on the tarmac with lights flashing. Fire and EMS personnel in uniform stood at attention in memory of those who perished on that evil day.

Later that afternoon, the Oak Bluffs Fire Museum open house was well attended. We do appreciate the beauty of that corner of the Town and all the hard work of the people that made it possible.

Our condolences to the family of Erick Clements: his parents, Vera-Jean and Albert, and siblings, Albert, and his wife, Becky, and his sister, Summer-Anne. They have our deepest sympathy. What a loving tribute to Erick was the graveside service for him on Saturday last with so many relatives and friends attending to show their caring.

Condolences also to the family of Barbara Lewis especially her four sons. A cheerful hardworking person, she will be missed.
