Vineyard gift shops

Are things starting to slow down? Are you getting back into the year-round routine? Do you already need a break from life, even if it is just or an hour? Why not head down to your local gift shop and see for yourself the latest must-haves in little gifts and cards because, lets face it, there is always a gift-giving event coming.

Vineyard Haven alone has a lot to offer in the form of gift shops. Mardell’s Gift & Jewelry Shop has a long-standing tradition of wrapping the Island’s wonderful gifts and topping them with the absolutely perfect card for every occasion. Along with the amazing wrapping paper selection, jewelry, chocolates, toys, and party supplies can all be had at some of the best prices on the Island.

Rainy Day is one of my favorite Island gift shops. With its dizzying array of serve ware, spa products, jewelry, home wares, and unique cards for all events, I could spend hours in there every week and always find something new I want, but should really get for someone else.

Two Susan’s, just across the street, carries some wonderful and unique pieces for someone’s tabletop or their garden. Become the favorite gift-giver and purchase Two Susan’s unique maple and pewter Cheese & Mouse cutting board.

Pyewacket’s, on Beach Road, is best described by their slogan “The antique, the unique, the esoteric and the familiar.” Their amazing and ever changing selection of gifts offers you an opportunity to fulfill anyone’s special desires. Visit their website (pyewacketsmv.com) or see for yourself “the one stop spiritual & esoteric experience of Bell, Book, and Candle” along with Judy McConnel’s impressive collection of vintage linens. If you haven’t been to Pyewacket’s in awhile, you will be pleasantly surprised by the Island’s first Fair Trade Depot while perusing some of the Island’s more interesting estate items.

Oak Bluffs also offers a plethora of gift shop venues. At Sanctuary you can be assured that whatever gift you choose, it will be loved. I have yet to give a gift, which with their special shopping bags and ribbons requires no additional wrapping, that wasn’t an instant hit even before the gift was opened. Their reputation of yoga-inspired gifts and home accessories ensures you will help someone to create their own sacred space. I personally enjoy relaxing in their peaceful environment, as it makes the gift-giving process so wonderful that you will want to give 365 days a year.

Another wonderful option on Circuit Avenue is Secret Garden. With a phenomenal variety of ceramic and glass serve ware to the Vera Bradley purse line, you will always be able to find the perfect gift for the special women in your life. Secret Garden even has a beautiful selection of stationary, which can be used as a gift or to give your gift.

Whatever your needs, or just to fill some time, head to your favorite local gift shop and become reacquainted with the art of gift-giving.
