33rd annual Tivoli Day

This past Saturday, a perfect, crisp, sunny day, was the 33rd annual Tivoli Day Festival, a celebration of the end of summer put on by the Oak Bluffs Association (OBA). It was evident from the crowded streets that this was one of the most-attended and successful Tivoli Days.

“It was very well attended, and there was a nice mix of vendors,” said Dennis daRosa, president of the OBA and chairman of Tivoli Day. “Vendors came to me and said it was their best Tivoli Day ever. It’s hard to beat a sunny day.”

The day started with a children’s parade at 12 noon where a few dozen families watched as children paraded down Circuit Avenue on decorated bicycles.

At the far end, outside the Oyster Bar Grill, Ballywho, Entrain, and Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish performed throughout the day, while Phil DaRosa performed at the Post Office Square, followed by karaoke. Restaurants had a busy day with most serving patrons on the street as well as inside, and attendees all seemed to be enjoying the last Saturday of summer.
