Israel through a novelist’s lens
Novelist Joan Leegant visits the M.V. Hebrew Center this Sunday, Sept. 26, for a morning talk about her book “Wherever You Go,” a story about America’s and Jewish political and religious extremism. Winner of the PEN/New England Book Award and finalist for the National Jewish Book Award, Ms. Leegant taught writing for eight years at Harvard, and currently is a visiting writer at Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv. Jazz musicians Eric Johnson, Tauras Biskis, and Boaz Kirschenbaum will perform an evening of contemporary jazz at the Katharine Cornell Theatre next Thursday, Sept. 30. The program features the music of Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Bill Frisell, and others.

This Sunday, Sept. 26, Garden Gate Child Development Center Inc. holds its second annual Family Fall Farm Fest at RunAmok Farm off Lambert’s Cove Road in West Tisbury. The M.V. Chamber of Commerce holds Business After Hours this Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the Lambert’s Cove Inn.
