Oak Bluffs recreational permit holders can start harvesting bay scallops from the Oak Bluffs side of Sengekontacket Pond on October 1. Commercial permit holders begin their season on October 4.
Outside waters of Oak Bluffs will be open to recreational permits on October 16, and commercial permits on October 18.
The Oak Bluffs side of Lagoon Pond will open to recreational permit holders on October 30. On November 1 the Lagoon will open to commercial scallopers.
Recreational permit holders can take one heaping bushel of scallops per week. Commercial shellfishermen are allowed three struck bushels per day, Monday through Friday.
