Pumpkin Festival at Morning Glory Farm

0

The Athearn family hosts their annual Pumpkin Festival at Morning Glory Farm this Saturday, Oct. 16. What’s for lunch? Hamburgers with Island meat, fresh vegetables, pumpkin pie, cake, and doughnuts. For fun, there’s hayrides, pumpkin carving, farm tours, a hay bale maze, wooly alpacas and baby oxen to visit, music by The Flying Elbows, and a “Morning Glory Farm And the Family That Feeds an Island” book signing with Tom Dunlop and Alison Shaw.

If you don’t care for pumpkins, the farm is still picking sweet corn, beets, Swiss chard, carrots, and much more, in addition to the very seasonal butternut, buttercup, and acorn squashes, as well as potatoes.

The Athearns urge all to carpool, as parking is limited. The festival, rain or shine, is from 11 am to 4 pm. For more information, visit morninggloryfarm.com or call 508-627-9003.
