End on a high note
KCT Concerts ends the season with fiddler Caoimhin O Raghallaigh and button accordionist Brendan Begley – a duo since 2007 – who recently released their first CD, A Moment of Madness. According to an article recently published in the Irish Echo, “Begley and O Raghallaigh deliver the full power of their joint music on A Moment of Madness. Their use of dynamics and their control of tempo – descending into whispery softness or ascending into bright boldness, slowing the pace or accelerating it – are as deft as they get in Irish traditional music.”
The concert begins at 7:30 pm on Saturday, Oct. 23, at FOCUS, hosted by Susie and Woody Bowman. Admission is $25 in advance through ticketsmv.com; $10 for children. For more information, call 508-693-6996 or 560-2109.
