The Bishop Feehan girls and boys cross-country teams came to call last Wednesday to match their speed and endurance with the Vineyard high schoolers in a 5K race through the State Forest.

Both of the boys teams were undefeated (3-0) in the EAC. The Feehan girls were also unbeaten in the conference. The M.V. girls conference record was 1-2.

In the girls race, Vineyarder Shivonne Schofield finished first with the winning time of 20:13, a personal best. Lilly Neville was third.

However, the visiting Shamrock girls filled six of the next seven places to win the meet, 24-40.

The Feehan boys were even more dominant. They finished 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 for an all but perfect winning score of 16. Willy Nevin was fifth for the Vineyard in 16:24. Adding the next four Islanders scores gave M.V. a count of 49.
