Team NSAAP (North American Speed Sailing Project) sailors are in the final week of competition in the Luderitz Speed Challenge at Luderitz, Namibia. Sailing his kiteboard, Rob Douglas of Vineyard Haven, has already posted two new American outright speed sailing records with his best at 52.58 knot average over the 500 meter course, according to a press release.

Weather forecasts predict 45-knot winds, thus setting the stage for another opportunity for Rob to break the world speed sailing record of 54.1-knots recently set by Alex Caizergues of France.

NSAAP sponsors include The Black Dog, Lynch Associates and Cabrinha.
