George W. Bramhall

George W. Bramhall, of Solebury, Penn., died on October 29, 2010. He was 85.

George was the husband of 24 years to Betty J. Bramhall. Born in Morristown, N.J., he was the son of the late Jacques and Edwina Keasbey Bramhall. George served during World War II as a fighter pilot in the Army Air Corps, later serving in the reserves and the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Bramhall lived much of his life in Monmouth County, spending the last 20 years in Solebury, Penn. He was very active in the New Hope–Solebury community, including involvement with open space and land preservation issues and was an active member of the local Republican Party, as well as a significant contributor to the Fox Chase Cancer Center Board of Associates: Bucks County Chapter. As a local artist, George was instrumental in utilizing art exhibits and shows to raise money for cancer research. His oil paintings are on display at the Gardner Colby Gallery, Edgartown. George was an avid fly fisherman and member of the Henryville Fishing Club, Henryville, Penn.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, David Bramhall; his wife’s four children, John Woolley, Mark Woolley, Tim Woolley and Victoria Vakiener; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Sandy King of Sherborne.His funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 5, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Doylestown, Penn., and he was interred on Saturday, Nov. 6, in Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle, N.J.
