The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Drama Department presents a workshop production of Samuel Beckett’s absurdist play “Waiting For Godot.”
This production will take Theatre of the Absurd, a categorization of particular absurdist fiction pieces, to a new level. Actors combined the scripted material with the improvisational game Tag-Outs (when a character is played by different actors) to keep both the actors and the audience on their toes.
“Waiting for Godot” was originally written by Beckett in French, “En attendant Godot,” between 1948 and 1949.
Tickets are $7; $5 for students and seniors. Performances are held at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center Thursday, Nov. 18 through Saturday, Nov. 20. All shows are at 7 pm. For more information see this week’s High School View on page 12.
