The undefeated Edgartown school junior varsity boys soccer team took the All Island trophy from West Tisbury by defeating the up-Islanders in the championship game, Saturday, 4-1 at the West Tisbury school.

The West Tisbury boys and girls teams won both of the varsity games and titles, also Saturday, defeating Oak Bluffs. Both games went to extra time.

Alex GordonBeck scored the first goal of the game for Oak Bluffs boys off a corner kick. Before the half was over, Lee Faraca tied the score for Westiz. In the second period Yannick Gonzalves scored for OB and Tim Roberts found the net for the Up-Islanders. In extra time, Brandon Dwane scored the winner.

In the girls’ final the game was scoreless at the end of regulation time. The teams played two five-minute periods of extra time. With penalty kicks looming, Molly Houghton bent a free kick ala David Beckham over a wall of OB defenders and keeper Mariah Duarte to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead with two minutes remaining.

Ninety seconds later Adelaide Keene sealed the win, slotting an insurance goal.
