5K for KJ

The sixth annual 5K for KJ run/walk, benefiting the Kevin Johnson Cross-Country Scholarship Fund, attracted more than 130 participants to the state forest cross-country course next to Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, Saturday.

Ben Bosworth of Edgartown finished first overall with a time of 17:53.47, while sister Emily Bosworth was the first woman to cross the tape at 22:08.73, good for 17th place.

Jeremy Alley-Tarter of Oak Bluffs finished second in 17:53.98, followed by Ben and Emily’s father Scott Bosworth, who clocked in at 18:06.17.

Rounding out the top ten were Michael Schroeder, West Tisbury, 18:15.87; Paul Vertefeuille, Vineyard Haven, 19:07.81; Michael Osborn, Vineyard Haven, 19:15.94; James Smadbeck, Edgartown, 19:35.41; Sam Oslyn, Oak Bluffs, 19:43.08; Mason Fischer, West Tisbury, 19:55.58; and Duncan Pickard, Edgartown, 21:01.29.
