Habitat for Humanity of Martha’s Vineyard has named Jon Snyder of Tisbury its new director of development. Mr. Snyder will be responsible for fundraising and for strengthening relationships with donors, according to a press release.
Mr. Snyder had served on Habitat’s board as treasurer for the past 18 months. He previously worked as an investment manager for high net-worth families and individuals and moved to the Vineyard in 2005. He has served on Tisbury’s finance and advisory committee since 2006.
“I am excited by this opportunity,” Mr. Snyder said. “Our Habitat chapter has received three lots in West Tisbury on which we plan to build three houses. It’s a wonderful opportunity and, of course, it brings with it a significant challenge. We need to raise about $220,000 to build these three houses, more than we’ve ever tried to do at one time.”
