That’s a wrap

The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival, founded by Thomas Bena, is wrapping up its most successful year since its inception in 2001. This year, the festival screened four Oscar contenders, enjoyed packed houses throughout the summer, and began a filmmaking class.

Most recently, the organization has hosted Family. Film. Feast., an event for the whole family at the Chilmark Community Center. The next event is Saturday, Jan. 8, starting at 5 pm. The annual Film Festival is scheduled for March 18 through March 20. For more information, visit tmvff.org.

Winter veggies

While Whippoorwill Farm is putting the farm to bed for the season, there are still some vegetables left, so the farm is holding a Winter Pickup open to everyone (not just CSA members) this Thursday, Dec. 23. From 10 am to 5 pm, pick produce, including salad greens, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, turnips, and possibly squash and Brussels sprouts, for $20. The farm is located on Head of the Pond Road in Oak Bluffs, where Thimble Farm was formerly located. For more information about the CSA, visit whippoorwillfarmcsa.com.
