In a laid-back run-up to New Year's Eve, many Island musicians and their fans gathered last Thursday evening for the Potluck Jam at the Chilmark Community Center.
Conceived and organized by Alex Karalekas, the evening turned out to be an intimate exchange of recent work ranging from hip-hop to folk to Mongolian music.
Taking their turn on stage were Mike Parker and John Stanwood of Dukes County Love Affair, Alex Karalekas, Tristan Israel, Nina Violet, Bruce Nevin (with daughters Katrina and Ariadne), Milo Silva and Adam Lipsky, and Nick Branch.
