Stela, welcome to 2011
[More Photos]Stela Plamenova Duncheva, the first baby born on Martha's Vineyard in 2011, weighed 7 pounds when she arrived at 1 am, Saturday, New Year's Day.
Her mother Ena Thulin teaches government in the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. Dad Plamen Dunchev is a carpenter. The couple is building a house in West Tisbury.
The baby's name is rooted in the traditions of her father's native Bulgaria. Stela joins big sister Eleonora, 15 months her senior. Grandparents Dennis and Sarah Thulin live in Aquinnah.
