Welcome 2011. For many it means the hope of a better year ahead and yet some look back with enjoyment at the events of last year. For me a statement my mother made shortly before she died that, “the only things she regretted were the things she didn’t do” reinforces my determination to do those things that I hesitated to do before. So I am learning to enjoy the moment.
I was lucky enough to experience an act of random kindness last Friday when I was in Rosebuds to pick up a newspaper. The young man in front of me told the clerk, “I have these items and I am paying for her (mine) newspaper too.” It was so unexpected and even though, perhaps just a small gesture, it lifted my spirits for the rest of the day. So thank you to that person and I will definitely pass it on.
We send condolences to the family of Helen White who died last week.
