JetBlue Airways announced Tuesday it would offer an introductory fare of $49 for its new seasonal service between Martha’s Vineyard and John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York.
The special fare is for flights booked through January 18 for travel between June 1 and June 29.
The low-cost air carrier announced plans at an Island press conference on December 23 to operate seasonal daily service from May 26 through September 6 using 100-seat Embraer 190 aircraft.
JetBlue’s planned schedule between New York and Martha’s Vineyard includes a flight that departs from JFK at 1:15 pm and arrives on the Island at 2:25 pm, and a flight that departs from the Island at 3:05 pm and arrives at JFK at 4:08 pm.
JetBlue has offered connections to Martha’s Vineyard through Boston since 2007 in cooperation with its local partner, Cape Air.
Tickets are on sale at www.jetblue.com/new. The introductory $49 fare is not valid for travel on Friday or Sunday. Undiscounted fares range between $56 and $240.
