The VFW  Hall in Oak Bluffs was filled to capacity Friday night, when up to 100 hungry supporters of the Charter School high school's upcoming trip to Guatemala feasted on tacos — beef, chicken, or vegetarian — and all the fixings. James McDonough, chef at the Beach Plum Inn, was responsible for the delicious offerings.

The 10-day trip in mid-February is being led by Spanish teacher Victoria Dryfoos and science teacher Louis Hall. For the first week, students will have one-on-one Spanish instruction for four hours each day, followed by sight-seeing. The second part of the trip is devoted to scientific adventuring in the jungle, rain forests, and tropical rivers.
