More than 100 Scots and associated pretenders and wannabes lit up the Harbor View Hotel on Saturday night with song and good cheer and plenty of food.

It was the Scottish Society of Martha’s Vineyard’s 24th Annual Burns Nicht Supper, in memory and honor of the most iconic Scotsman of them all, the poet Robert Burns.

Dressed in all kinds of highland finery, but principally kilts, attendees were determined to warm up a bitter cold mid-winter night with song, poetry, and plenty of hearty socializing. And they succeeded, in spades.

It was enough to make the rest of us dust off our ancestry in search of a dram or two of Scottish blood, so we too could revel in a night like this.
