The Vineyard Nursing Association and the Chilmark, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, and West Tisbury boards of health will sponsor two Flu Clinics for Island children. The clinics are free of charge and open to children ages two and older. Adults are also welcome, according to a press release.

The first flu clinic will be held from 9 am to 11 am on Saturday, January 29, at the Howes House in West Tisbury. The second clinic will be held from 9 am to 11 am on Saturday, February 5, at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

The Department of Public Health suggests flu vaccination for people at high risk of contracting the flu and their close contacts. This includes healthcare personnel and persons in touch with children younger than 6 months. It is recommended that adults and children receive one vaccine per year, however children under 9 years of age may require two doses the first year they receive a vaccination.

Questions about the flu clinic or needed paperwork can be directed to the Vineyard Nursing Association at 508-693-6184.
