Time for the Fairleigh Dickinson

The annual Fairleigh Dickinson boys’ ice hockey tournament is this weekend. The first game begins at 5 pm, Saturday, with Masconomet Regional of Topsfield versus Nauset at the Martha’s Vineyard Arena.

At 7 pm the Vineyard goes against Lynnfield.

In the championship game, Saturday’s winners will face off against each other at 3 pm, Sunday. The consolation game begins at 1 pm.

Jette to Gillette

Randall Jette, the Vineyard’s outstanding MVP quarterback, has been notified that he has been chosen to play in the annual Shriners football game on Saturday, June 18, at Gillette Stadium. Randall will be a member of the South squad.

Six Skaters at Boston

Six Island skaters entered the Skating Club of Boston’s twelfth Annual Basic Skills competition, Saturday, February 12.

Avery Simmons was 1st in Basic 6 Program and 4th in Basic 6 Elements. Molly Carroll was 4th in Basic 6 Elements.

Ava BenDavid was 1st in Basic 6 Elements and 2nd in Basic 6 Program. Taylor Jackson was 3rd in Showcase and 3rd in Free Skate 1 Program.

Sally Caron was 2nd in Showcase and 3rd in Beginner Freestyle. Ashley Wood was 4th in Preliminary Freestyle.

Coached by Jane Elizabeth Taylor and Beth Blankenship, the girls will skate in the annual Ice Show at the Martha’s Vineyard Arena, April 9 and 10.

Darts to fly again

The Martha’s Vineyard Dart League announces plans for a Spring season.
